US corn and wheat rallied off three-month lows on Thursday, lifted by talk of China buying US corn, after grains slid sharply during the previous session. Soyabeans also rose on Chinese export demand after the US Department of Agriculture reported a fresh old-crop sale of 110,000 tonnes and US weekly export sales were above trade expectations.
Chicago Board of Trade May corn was up 18 cents, or 3 percent, to $6.19-3/4 a bushel as of 11:11 a.m. CDT (1611 GMT). May soyabeans added 11 cents or 0.8 percent to $14.18-3/4 a bushel. Chicago May wheat advanced 13-1/4 cents or 2.2 percent to $6.24 a bushel, on short-covering spurred by the rebound in corn and soyabeans.
