The after-tax profit of Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL) increased to Rs 9.329 billion in the nine month period ended March 31, 2012 against Rs 7.838 billion earned in the corresponding period last year. The company's board of directors, who held a meeting on April 18, declared that the company's earning per share increased to Rs 39.44 in the period under review against Rs 33.14 in the same period a year ago.
According to financial results sent to the Karachi Stock Exchange, the company's sales increased to Rs 23.666 billion in the nine month period this year against Rs 19.772 billion in the same period last year. The company paid Rs 1.687 billion as sales tax against Rs 1.622 billion paid in the same account in the same period last year. The company's operating costs increased to Rs 4.72 billion against Rs 4.115 billion.
The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 13.840 billion in the nine month period end March 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 10.793 billion in the same period last year. On quarterly basis, the company profit after taxation increased to Rs 3.160 billion translating earning per share of Rs 13.36 in the quarter ended March 31 this year against after-tax profit of Rs 2.637 billion with a per share earning of Rs 11.15 in the same quarter last year.
