Lahore Police have been directed to remain vigilant under prevalent circumstances, against miscreants and saboteurs, besides taking concrete steps to ensure arrest of dangerous criminals listed in the black book. This was stated in a written order letter of Capital City Police Officer, Ahmad Raza Tahir distributed among all SPs of the division, here on Thursday.
On the occasion of Jumat-ul-Mubarik, special emphasis should be laid on comprehensive and effective checking of the heavy transport entering in the city, especially during late night, it said. There should be special checking and preventive measures taken for transport entering between 3am to 6am, as these hours are commonly considered easy for criminals to move around and enter the city due to light presence of force at the time.
He further said that code of ethics, formulated with the help of various schools of thought, ought to be strictly implemented, according to which there is a strict ban on all provocative and hate-mongering speeches from the pulpit. He further ordered for usage of walk-through gates for security purpose and asked divisional SPs to personally review duty of all police personnel, deputed at Darbars and Imam Bargahs, along with ensuring continuous patrolling of their respective areas in an effective manner.
He directed security branch to increase usage of metal detectors on the occasion of Juma congregations in the city and ensuring maintenance of peace at mosques with the close co-operation of its organisers. In his order, the CCPO also directed Lahore Police that the parking of all vehicles and motorcycles should be well away from important buildings, mosques and imam barghas.
The CCPO further directed to make comprehensive strategy for maintenance of security on the occasion of Juma congregations, through frequent checking and to arrange parking at safe distant places, in addition to ensure the co-operation of the citizens in this connection. In his order, The CCPO said that close co-operation of citizens is highly essential to thwart the nefarious designs of anti-state elements. He also appealed to the citizens to keep a watchful eye on its surroundings and in case they observe any suspicious activity, inform on emergency number 15, immediately.
