Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday lauded the services of outgoing Deputy Chairman Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (Erra), Lieutenant General Sardar Mehmood Ali Khan for carrying out effective work in the earthquake-hit areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Khyber Pukhtunkhwa.
The Prime Minister in a farewell call on him by the Chairman Erra, appreciated the work carried out by Erra particularly in building infrastructure, schools, hospitals and a large number of housing units.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction that the dual carriageway between Lower Topa and Kohala was already completed and its extension up to Muzaffarabad would provide greater convenience to the people travelling to the AJK capital.
The Prime Minister said the construction of international airport in AJK would greatly facilitate the overseas Kashmiris.
He said the completion of dual carriageway and international airport would be the best thing to happen in AJK which would give a boost to local economy and tourism industry in particular. The Prime Minister gave a memento to the outgoing Deputy Chairman ERRA as a token of the government's appreciation for his meritorious services in the rehabilitation of earthquake affected areas.
