The after-tax profit of Sitara Chemical Industries Limited has increased to Rs461.465 million in the nine-month period ended March 31 this year against Rs216.039 million earned in the corresponding period a year ago.
The company's board of directors declared in a meeting held on Wednesday that the firm's earning per share increased to Rs21.53 in the period under review against Rs10.08 in the same period last year.
According to financial results sent to the Karachi Stock Exchange, the company's sales increased to Rs5.349 billion in this period against Rs4.612 billion in the same period last year. The cost of goods sold increased to Rs3.91 billion against Rs3.575 billion.
The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs626.273 million in this period against Rs322.655 million in the same period a year ago.
On quarterly basis, the company's after-tax profit increased to Rs146.948 million, translating an earning per share of Rs6.86 in the quarter ended March 31 against an after-tax profit of Rs89.069 million with a per share earning of Rs4.16 in the same quarter last year.
