'Investors will soon find remarkable improvement in law and order situation'
Provincial Minister for Public Health Engineering, Adil Siddiqui has said that the investors will soon find remarkable improvement in prevailing law and order situation in the city.
Speaking at a gathering hosted by President India Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IPCCI), S M Muneer and President All Karachi Industrial Alliance (AKIA), Mian Zahid Hussain to pay tribute to businessmen who were conferred on Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the government, he said that there was nothing to be disappointed, adding efforts were been made to improve law and order situation in the city.
He said that a number of hidden forces had damaged the peaceful environment of the city.
Siddiqui said that it was time for all of us to come forward and play our role to save this commercial and industrial hub of the country. He said that the city generates 72 percent of the total revenue.
Muneer expressed concern over performance of the government and said that country's financial system was in a complete mess and there was no writ of the government. He said that unemployment was increasing rapidly while industries were losing their businesses due to unfavourable environment. He lament that the present government had no option except to over-burden the people with massive taxes.
Referring to oil prices, he said that the government was earning Rs 46 on one liter petrol which was absolute injustice with the poor people. He said that industries were becoming unviable and the export target would not be achieved in prevailing circumstances.
President AKIA, Mian Zahid Hussain expressed serious apprehension over current economic conditions.
Former Chairman APTMA, Gohar Aijaz portrayed a bleak picture of the national economy saying that during the last few years there was no industrialisation in the country.
Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, Senator Farogh Nasim, MNA Khushbakht Shujaat, Khalid Tawab, Akhtar Younus, Yahiya Polani and Yasin Malik also spoke on the occasion.
