Q. Please tell us a little about Avanza Solutions and how it started?
Avanza Solutions was founded in the year 1999 in New York, USA by seasoned bankers with a vision to be recognised and respected as the best in class Software and Services Corporation-an organisation built over core values of integrity, professionalism, and excellence. Within a year, an offsite facility was established in Pakistan to facilitate the clients across regions. The globalisation vision was further extended and Avanza opened another office in Madrid, Spain in partnership with Banesto Bank of Spain. The facility currently hosts 200+ developers in Spain and is considered as one of the most reputed software houses in the region.
In 2003, Avanza noticed an exponential growth in the Middle East market, specifically in UAE, and hence a regional head office was established in UAE with Emirates Technology Group as a local partner. In 2010, Avanza started a liaison office in Australia to reach the Far Eastern and Australian markets. Avanza is now a global software solutions provider specialising in e-Business and e-Banking solutions, IT Consulting, Enterprise Application Services, Infrastructure Management, and Quality Services. We have over 300+ customers world-wide cutting a cross-section of industries, with specific concentration in the financial, telecom, and government sectors.
Q. How has the company evolved since it first started operating?
Avanza started off with a clear focus on a niche market, which is the banking sector, and within a year of formation, big names like Bank of America, Citibank, and American Express were on our client list. After developing in-depth understanding of the banking business domain in terms of their of the evolution of e-Banking and identification of critical consideration factors for banks, Avanza developed a line of products, which not only address the pain areas of banks but also improve the efficiency of their business operations.
Since then, Avanza have not looked back and now we have presence in all major banks in the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions on our client list. Once this partnership philosophy was instilled in the organisation, Avanza started penetrating in other areas such as customised development, portal development, and consultancy for UAE government and other private companies of Middle East.
Today, Avanza operates across continents, delivering quality solutions in the financial, telco, government, and private sectors.

Q. In your opinion, how is E-Business and E-Banking evolving the modern day commercial markets?
If you are not offering e-services to consumers, then you are not doing business at all! A recent study showed that the volume of online commerce increased by 36 percent during the year 2010-2011 over previous years, despite a gloomy year on Wall Street. This growth is expected to increase this year. Clearly, a strong e-commerce strategy is a prerequisite for long-term survival. E-Business and E-Banking are a rich market, and to tap it you need the right solutions.
