Zardari postpones visit to Siachen

President Asif Ali Zardari's scheduled visit to Siachen on Monday could not take place due to unsuitable weather conditions for travelling. Spokesperson to President Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the president was due to visit the Gayari sector in Siachen to express solidarity with the defenders of the frontiers who were hit by the avalanche.
He was advised by the authorities that severe weather conditions in the area were not suitable for travelling therefore the visit could not take place. President Zardari will continue his routine engagements at the President House. New date of the visit would be announced later.-PR
