Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 61,036 tonnes of cargo comprising1 54,843 tonnes of import cargo and 6,193 tonnes of export cargo including 3,722 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 54,843 tonnes comprised of 45,789 tonnes of containerised cargo and 9,054 tonnes of bulk cargo.
The total export cargo of 6,193 tonnes comprised of 4,543 tonnes of containerised cargo; 421 tonnes of general cargo and 1,229 tonnes of bulk cargo. A total number of 3,722 containers include 3,502 import and 220 export containers were handled during the last 24 hours on Saturday.
The brake up of imported containers shows 1,078 of 20's and 1,144 of 40's of loaded while 50 of 20's and 40 of 40's empty containers. Where as that of exported containers shows 140 of 20's and 40 of 40's loaded containers while no empty containers were handled during the business hours. Three ships sailed out to sea during the reported period. Three vessels are currently at the berths.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 105,981 tonnes, comprising 89,224 tonnes of import cargo and 16,757 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,896 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Saturday.
The total import cargo of 89,224 tonnes includes 1,000 tonnes of furnace oil; 47,609 tonnes of diesel oil; 16,000 tonnes of canola seeds; 6,121 tonnes of chemicals and 18,494 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 16,757 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A furnace oil tanker namely MT Omera Queen sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while a container ship namely CV CMA CGM Mozart sailed out to sea on Saturday morning. A total number of five vessels namely CV CMA CGM Mozart, MT Omera Queen, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Harsanadi and Rapallo with containers, furnace oil, diesel oil, chemicals and canola seeds respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as two ships namely Anette Kosan and MT Lahore with chemicals and furnace oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of two vessels viz CV Lotus and MT Lahore with containers and furnace oil respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Saturday.
