I congratulate the Pakistan-Japan governments and nations on the celebrations of diplomatic ties to reinforce their lasting strategic and economic partnership.I also appreciate Pak-Japan Business Forum, investors and businessmen for playing more pro-active role in deepening our bilateral ties on all levels. Our relationships have run so closely and affectionately during many long years that this celebration adds another link to that chain.
The history of the relationship of Japan and Pakistan holds decades of mutual support and friendship. Japan was amongst the first countries that supported us in the hour of tragedies and misfortunes of earthquake and floods. Pakistan was also standing by the people of Japan in the aftermath of earthquake and supported them with the experts dealing with such calamities.
Our relationship has evolved into a long-term strategic partnership aimed at promoting peace stability and prosperity in the region. Pakistan plumes the great achievements of the Japanese which attest to the genius, wisdom and talents of the nation and their sagacious leadership.
Japan's economic assistance has played a very important role in the development of Pakistan's economic and social infrastructure. The major projects, which have been funded by the Government of Japan, are: the Indus Highway Project, a number of power projects in various provinces of Pakistan, Rural Roads Construction Project and the Children Hospital PIMS Islamabad Project. Presently the Kohat Tunnel Project and the Ghazi Brotha Dam Project are being completed with the help of the Japanese assistance. We look forward to serve the Japanese investors and businessmen with exceptional commitment so that the economic relations between the two countries grow sustainable.
