Pakistan's chief selector Hanif Khan believes that Pakistan junior hockey team will perform well in Junior Asia Cup, which will be played in Malacca, Malaysia from 3rd to 13th May. "The junior team defeated Malaysian junior team 2-1 in a three-match Test series in Malaysia. They also drew two-match series against South Korea 1-, which concluded today. The results are impressive considering the fact that six of our top junior players, who are attending seniors camp, didn't feature in both series," former legendary player Hanif Khan told PPI.
Pakistan defeated South Korea 3-2 in the first match but they lost the second match 2-3 on Friday in Malaysia. "I believe when those junior players, who are attending the camp alongside senior players, when join the juniors assignment of Asia Cup in Malaysia, the players in the green-shirt will make their mark in the tournament," he added. Hanif said that Pakistan junior team has immense firepower and when the full-strength team will go to Malacca, he expects them to win the title. Pakistan has called probables for junior team's camp, which will begin 19th April here at Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium.
