Taiwan stocks rose 0.21 percent on Wednesday, beating regional bourses, with Apple Inc supplier Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd up 3.18 percent after saying its March sales rose 30 percent from a year earlier. The main TAIEX index ended up 15.99 points at 7,656.67, bolstered by a 0.68 percent gain in electronics shares. Financial shares slipped 0.48 percent.
PC vendor Acer Inc shed 1.3 percent after posting a decline in March sales. Foreign investors were net sellers on Tuesday, bringing their total selling to T$21.9 billion ($741.23 million) this month.
