In the wake of the failure of negotiations with Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra), All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has suspended oil supply to all Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan for indefinite period.
Talking to journalists, president, All Pakistan Oil Tankers' owners Association Nasir Ali Khan said that the supply of oil to all public and private sector institutes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan included Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar will remain suspended from April 10 (Tuesday) for indefinite period. During the period, he said that oil supply from the depots of state owned Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and other companies would remain suspended.
He said that the association had given a 72-hour deadline for increase in the fares of oil tankers, but the government failed to consider their demands. Nasir Ali Khan said that the growing prices of petroleum products and sky-rocketing price hike had brought the business of oil-tanker transport on the verge of collapse and the continuation of business for transporters is not only difficult, but also unbearable.
