Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) emphasised speeding up of work over updation/ preparation of separate electoral rolls and expressed satisfaction over the work for the forthcoming bye-elections in constituencies No PP-243 D.G. Khan-IV and PP-245 DGK-VI of Provincial Assembly of Punjab.
The decision was taken in a meeting held with Acting Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, Justice Mian Shahkirullah Jan on Monday, which was attended by members Election Commission, namely, former Justice Muhammad Roshan Essani, former Justice Riaz Kayani, former Justice Shazad Akbar Khan and former Justice Fazal-ur-Rehman. The meeting reviewed the overall progress of preparation of electoral rolls and directed to ensure credible and error-free electoral rolls at the earliest.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Director Protocol, Mushtaq Ahmad's father who passed away after prolonged illness. The CEC and members ECP offered "Fateha" and in a message of condolence, they prayed to rest the departed soul in the eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.-PR
