Chief of Jumiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has convened an emergency meeting of the party today (Monday) at his residence to decide whether to attend or not the meeting of Parliamentary Committee on National Security.
JUL-F chief has announced to boycott the meetings of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, which is finalising the new terms of engagement with US and passage of law to protect women from domestic violence.
Maluana Fazlur Rehman said that party would boycott the PCNS meeting because the government has already decided to open the Nato supply as well as against the law to curb domestic violence against women because of some clauses that could destroy the family system in the country. On Saturday, President Asif Ali Zardari contacted him on telephone and requested him to participate in the PCNS meetings.
The emergency meeting of the JUI-F parliamentary party would be held in this background to decide about the future strategy of the party in consultation with the party leaders.
The committee was forced to delay finalisation of the draft recommendations, earlier, due to boycott by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) against the increase in POL prices.
