Development work is reported to have begun on the second phase of the Lyari Development Package (LDP), including water supply schemes and improvement of roads, streets, parks and play grounds. An official press release issued here on Sunday said that preparatory work on the Lyari Master Plan was also under way.
After the completion of development work under the first phase, tenders were invited for improving 30 different roads in Lyari were invited while 12 boxing grounds were also being renovated under the second phase of the LDP.
Special attention was also being given to improve the area's educational environment and repair and renovation of school buildings was also being carried out under the package.
According to the press release, priority was also being given for the provision of skilled teachers and furniture. Vocational training centres were also being opened, the press release said.
