Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday said that the day was not far away when people would knock down President Asif Ali Zardari. After the recent tirade against PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif by Zardari in Lahore, the war of words between the two political parties has taken new heights.
Talking to journalists, Nisar said that people would set an example by defeating Zardari in the upcoming elections. "We stood like a solid rock against the misdeeds of former military dictator Pervez Musharraf yesterday and today we are again fully prepared to drub Zardari," he added.
He termed Asif Ali Zardari as the head of biggest 'qabza mafia' of the country, adding that after Pervez Musharraf, he wreaked havoc in the country through burgeoning price hike, corruption, defying court orders and worsening the energy crisis. "We wanted to get rid of General Musharraf with the hope that things will change for the better but Zardari broke all the records of decency, proving himself as the biggest corrupt person in the region," he alleged, adding that he has no pain for the masses whether they are flood-stricken or hit by massive earthquake.
Nisar said that the country was passing through a very difficult time of its history as the incumbent regime has left no stone unturned to take the already fragile institutions at the brink of disaster. Chaudhry Nisar, who seemed quite angry over Zardari's statement in which Zardari had called his leader 'Nawaz Sharif' a migrant, said that the rulers were not interested in the resolution of the problems of the masses but their sole ambition is to plunder as much national wealth as they can.
The PML-N leader said that every coming day is bringing more miseries for masses in the shape of steep increase in prices of essential commodities, important for survival. This has tremendously increased the rate of suicide, he added, as people are unable to make both end meet with meager salaries and wages. The worst load-shedding of gas has halted the wheel of industry and the labourers working in industrial institutions have come to streets against unemployment as their unable to feed their children, he added.
