Petition against Prime Minister: hearing adjourned to April 20

A full bench of the Lahore High Court here Friday allowed time to federal government's counsel to file a reply in response to a petition seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. Deputy Attorney General Aazar Latif appeared before the bench and sought time to file comments on behalf of the government. The bench allowed the request and adjourned the hearing to April 20.
A bar member, Allah Bakhsh Gondal, through A K Dogar, submitted that a sedition case against prime minister should be lodged for allegedly subverting the constitution by way of not implementing the judicial decisions. He submitted that the prime minister as chief executive of the country was responsible for inaction on Supreme Court verdicts.
