HYDERABAD: The people of different walks of life expressed solidarity with Kashmiri people by taking out rallies and holding events to highlight the Kashmir issue here on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Saleem Rajput and SSP Hyderabad Peer Muhammad Shah led a walk from Pakistan Chowk to Shahbaz Building to mark the Kashmir day.
While addressing the participants, the DC expressed the hope that the day of Kashmir's freedom was not far away.
"We hope that it shouldn't take long before Kashmiris also attain their aspiration of getting freedom," he said.
The SSP said the innocent Kashmiri people were being subjected to the state's terrorism. He said the people of Pakistan would continue to support Kashmiris in their struggle for their rights and against the oppression.
The Municipal Commissioner of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) Shahid Ali Khan also spoke.
The Additional Commissioner Muhammad Salik Mirza, Additional DC Ghulam Qadir Junejo, Assistant Commissioner Agha Zulfiqar Durrani, other officials as well as traders, teachers, students and notable citizens participated in the rally.
The Pakistan Peoples Party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pak Sarzameen Party and other political and religious groups also marked the day by taking out rallies.
