Star cricket all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi auctioned his sport kit items including bat, ball and shirts to raise funds for the treatment Thalassemia patients in a ceremony organised by Umair Sana Foundation in Houston, USA. On this occasion, Afridi's bat used during the Asia Cup match against India was sold for $18,000 while his ball was auctioned at $8,000, which he used during a match in Dubai to get 6-wicket haul to seal the match against Australia.
Shirts, balls, autographs and other sports stuff of the cricket legend was also bided during the ceremony. The bidders included Indian nationals as well. The star all-rounder, on this occasion, said that the interest shown by Pakistani community for welfare of Thalassemia patients has encouraged him. He said to attend this noble cause he even missed the national Super-eight T20 championship. He thanked President of the foundation Dr Kashif Ansari for holding the ceremony. Renowned TV actor Humanyon Saeed was also present.
