Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that Shahra-e-Pakistan and S.M. Taufiq Road will be made signal free by constructing four flyovers at this corridor with a cost of Rs 1740 million. Planning for construction of four flyovers at Water Pump, Ayesha Manzil, Dak Khana and Teen Hatti Roundabout was already made and the Technical Services Department was directed to take the measures for immediate construction of these flyovers.
Shara-e-Pakistan and S.M. Taufiq Road were considered very important and busy corridors of city, which were used by the traffic going to and from Superhighway. Administrator Karachi has said that construction of flyovers at four of the very busy roundabouts of this corridor would not only release the pressure of traffic at these spots but also maintain the flow of traffic.
He said all formalities in this regard were already completed and now it was being made sure that the arrangements of alternate routes for traffic were completed before the start of work so that the citizens could be saved from any inconvenience. The estimated cost of flyover at Water Pump and Ayesha Manzil roundabout was Rs 493.95 million each while the proposed flyover at Dak Khana Intersection would cost Rs 472.52million and the flyover at Teen Hatti Roundabout will be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 267.65million.-PR
