Four people including a father and his young son were killed and two others injured, when unidentified armed assailants sprayed volley of bullets on motorcyclists at Banaras flyover here on late Friday night, police said Earlier, two person including an ANP activists were shot dead by unidentified armed attackers in the same area, which led to tension between two rival groups.
Police said unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on bike riders near the Banaras flyover, wherein five people injured critically. They were shifted to a nearby hospital where four of them succumbed to their injuries. The victims were identified as Wasim, his son Hassan and Jamal.
In another incident, unidentified armed men riding a bike opened fire on a hotel, killing a man instantly. His body was moved to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Earlier, a policeman, Imran, was shot dead near police headquarters in Garden area.
In Bilal Colony Korangi, one Younis, 40, was gunned down. In Gharibabad area, unknown armed men shot dead a man, whose identity could not be ascertained. Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wassan directed Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh to take action against the criminals. He also directed him to ask the SHOs to ensure police patrolling in their respective areas.
