No audit of individuals on basis of personal expenditures till 2013: FBR tells field formations
The Federal Board of Revenue has restrained its field formations to conduct income tax audit of individuals on the basis of personal expenditures till 2013. According to sources, the board through a notification directed its field formations to avoid conducting income tax audit of individuals on the basis of personal expenditures till 2013.
Instead of amending personal expenditure form (Annexure-D), the board has held its field formations back from issuing audit notices to individuals even after finding discrepancies in their personal expenditure form till the said period. "Although the taxpayers had demanded withdrawal of the mandatory requirement of board to declare expenses on personal servants, club memberships, travel and utilities through personal expenditure form, this move from the FBR would pacify agitating taxpayers, who had been expressing strong resentments since the introduction of Annexure-D," sources said.
