Taiwan stocks higher

Taiwan stocks ended up 0.78 percent on Tuesday, joining gains in region bourses, with car makers and heavyweights Hon Hai and TSMC leading the rise. The main TAIEX index rose 61.84 points to 8,029.46, after opening up 0.82 percent, with the automobile sub-index being the top gainer, up 2.97 percent.
Electronics shares climbed 0.83 percent, with Hon Hai advancing 1.89 percent ahead of releasing its fourth-quarter and full-year 2011 results, and TSMC rebounding 2.63 percent after declines in the previous session. Financial shares rose 0.49 percent. The Taiwan dollar was up by T$0.047 to trade at T$29.575. Foreign investors were net sellers on Monday, offloading T$21.83 billion.
