President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Naeem Anwar Qureshi in a press statement has said that the protest rally against load shedding scheduled on March 27 had been postponed after assurance from Chief Executive GEPCO, Mehboob Alam that forced load shedding has been stopped in Sialkot as per directive of the Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani.
Naeem Anwar, after a meeting with Chairmen of the trade bodies said that the trade bodies have decided to postpone the protest for the time being but the situation would be closely monitored that load shedding schedule as decided in consultation with the Sialkot Chamber is complied with and all sorts of forced load shedding is eliminated.
The President of the Sialkot Chamber thanked the Prime Minister for issuing directive to eliminate forced load shedding to provide relief to the people. He also thanked the media for being with the trade bodies in highlighting the woes of the export industry and the people of Sialkot due to intensive load shedding.
