Capacity-building training for teachers

A local non-governmental organisation with the assistance of USAID organised a three-day capacity-building training on accelerated curriculum for teachers from union councils Madiyan, Bahrain and Tirat of district Swat. The informal education project for out-of-school children is funded by the people of United States through the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
Under the proposed intervention spanning over a period of three years, the organisation will establish 15 community-based schools for approximately 1,500 out-of-school children. These schools will complete primary education course in a period of three years, as compared to six years of the formal schools. In his speech, Master Trainer, Abdul Malik said that older and out-of-school children would be encouraged to attend the programme. The schools, he said would be multi-grade and the education would be totally free.
