President Anjuman-Tajiran Pakistan, Ashraf Bhatti has announced a civil-disobedience movement if power situation will not improve in 72 hours. He was addressing a press conference along with the trader leaders at Lahore Press Club on Monday. He also announced that as a protest the traders of Lahore will close their shops for two hours to register their protest against the massive load shedding in the country.
He also threatened that they will stop the payment of bills as well as taxes if the government has not taken steps to solve this serious energy crisis. He was of the view that despite the increase in prices of electricity by 100 percent government was unable to provide electricity.
The traders also announced that protest demonstrations would be held in other cities and towns of Punjab during the first phase of the movement. He said that they will participate in the protest demonstrations in Faisalabad on Tuesday. Bhatti said that they will also stage sit-in in front of Governor House and Wapda House if the electricity situation will not improve.
