PML-N President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has held PPP government and its allies responsible for downfall of country's industrial sector. While addressing laptop distribution ceremony here at Punjab University on Friday, Nawaz said the country was facing worst energy crisis but the present regime is showing indifferent attitude.
He said, "The situation is bad, but I still have hope. I believe Pakistan will be on its feet again. Every Pakistani will have laptop in his hands if we are elected to power." He vowed to resolve all the crises confronted to the country. He said, when the PML-N was in power we were in a position to export electricity to India. He said, we had not given weapons in the hands of youngsters rather we gave them laptops to secure their future. If PML-N wins the coming general elections, laptops will be distributed across the country. He announced that the PML-N would distribute 300,000 more laptops in the next budget.
India's biggest achievement was that it upheld the sanctity of the ballot box ? its biggest achievement was democracy," said Sharif. "Indians are proud of how democracy is practised in their country, can Pakistanis be proud like them?" questioned Sharif. "We do not just talk about change. We are bringing the change," he said. "If more money is invested in education then it will help nurture a revolutionary youth."
The PML-N chief blamed President Asif Zardari's government and their allies for the country's problems. Former Premier said that dictators and martial laws have destroyed the unity of our country . Sharif said that back in 1965, when Pakistan fought a war against India, people of Pakistan showed unity. "We did not fight the war as Bengalis, Sindhis, Pathans, Baloch or Punjabis, we fought the war as Pakistanis. So how did we disperse into these ethnicities? Because of dictatorship... dictatorship split us."
Talking about final of Asia Cup, he said that he was confuse when Pakistan lost Bangladesh as to whom congrats as Bangladesh was also a part of Pakistan and Bengalis were at the forefront of the struggle for Pakistan's independence. PML-N chief said that former East Pakistanis played an active part during the 1965 war with India. Moreover, the Bengali's were also our brothers once, he added. Vice Chancellor Punjab University Dr Mujahid Kamran, PML N leaders Zaeem Qadri, Khawaja Asif, Saad Rafique, Pervaiz Rashid, Mujtaba Shuja ur Rahman and others were also present on the occasion.
