Nehal Hashmi transferred to hospital due to chest pain

A day after Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz Senator Nehal Hashmi was arrested, he was admitted to Adiala Jail hospital in Islamabad after suffering from chest pain on Friday.
According to local reports, Hashmi's health had worsen in the jail after which he was transferred to the hospital jail.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has also issued a notification on Friday disqualifying Hashmi as a member of the Senate. The notification reads: “In terms of Article 63(1)(g) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973, ECP hereby issues Notification of disqualification of Nehal Hashmi as Senator with effect from 1.02.2018.''
The Supreme Court (SC) had sentenced Hashmi on Thursday to one month jail time in the contempt of court case. The SC also slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on Hashmi and has disqualified him from holding any public office for five years.

During a fiery speech last year in May, Hashmi threatened judges of apex court and joint investigation team members probing offshore accounts of Sharif family. The SC took suo motu notice of his speech.
A video of Hashmi’s speech went viral on social media, in which he warned those conducting the investigation will be ‘taken to task’ for grilling the Sharif’s family. After Hashmi’s controversial speech, he was directed by his party to resign from the Senate.
During the previous hearing on January 24, Kamran Murtaza counsel for Hashmi, submitted an unconditional apology on behalf of his client. The bench, however, raised objections on the words used in the submission. The apology said, “If the court feels that I have committed contempt, I apologise.”
