Chaudhry Nisar blames government for trying to facilitate foreign security agencies

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Tuesday warned the government that any step to facilitate foreign spy agencies to operate inside Pakistan using the platform of parliament will not be allowed.
Talking to journalists after attending the joint sitting of parliament, Nisar said that there was a different agenda behind these recommendations. There was no way to go ahead unless they were taken into confidence. "On one hand, the government claims to have making independent foreign policy while on the other, it is trying to facilitate international security agencies inside Pakistan. "Give me an example if there is any independent country in the world which allows foreign agencies to operate on its soil," he asked. He accused the government of keeping the recommendations of the committee as top secret. "Despite repeated requests, Raza Rabbani [committee chairman] refused to share the recommendations with us," he added.
He further said that two members of his party Ishaq Dar and Mehtab Ahmad Abbasi, who were part of the committee, were completely kept in the dark. "We just came to know about the recommendations because the drafting was done by the government without letting anybody know about it," he added. The message behind independence and sovereignty, he said, was very dangerous and they could not compromise on dignity and sovereignty of the country.
He questioned the non-implementation of the two resolutions passed earlier by the parliament, saying unless they must guarantee us of implementing the parliament's resolutions in letter and spirit. "Who will ensure there will be no more drone attacks, entry of foreign intelligence operatives will be banned, all the decisions of parliament will be implemented. Zardari is not afraid of anyone but we will not give open license to PPP at any cost," he added.
When asked what he demanded of the US, he said that he had no demand except that the US must respect the sovereignty and dignity of Pakistan and reign in its intelligence agencies. Khan expressed anger over Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's reply to Supreme Court of Pakistan, in which he had submitted that the issue of writing letter to Swiss authorities should be referred to the parliament. "I wonder has Prime Minister Gilani got a degree in law within a few days or he has been a high profile legal expert for a long time but was hidden from us for reasons best known to himself," he remarked.
