Mari Gas Company Limited (MGCL) has started supplying 44mmscf per day gas to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) with effect from March 10, 2012 from Mari Field (Mari Deep Reservoir) in order to meet the energy demand in the country. "By supplying additional 44mmscfd gas, MGCL has achieved the hallmark of supplying more than 600mmscfd of gas from Mari Field", an information sent to Karachi Stock Exchange on Tuesday said.
MGCL commenced production from its oil well, Halini X-1 in Karak Block. The current rate of production is 650-660bbls/day. MGCL has 60 percent share in the joint venture. It is expected that the enhanced production by the company would continue in making significant contributions for meeting the country's energy needs, it added.
