Two killed in separate incidents

At least two persons were killed while one other injured in separate incidents of violence at various parts of the metropolis here on Tuesday. According to police, a 20-year-old Rehan son of Arif was killed while his friend Amin sustained bullet wounds when they reached to a shrine located in Super Market police remits along with two other friends namely Ishaq and Waseem.
They said that the victim Amin in his statement revealed that all these persons were kidnapped when they came to the shrine to perform dua and the kidnappers took them Ilyas Goth where they applied severe torture on their bodies after snatching all valuables form them.
The police said the injured Amin further informed that the kidnappers on early Tuesday took them at unknown place and ordered them to run for life. Later, the kidnappers opened indiscriminate gunshots on them. Resultantly, Rehan sustained fatal bullet wounds and died on spot while rest of them survived in this incident.
The body and the injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for legal formalities. A case 51/12 was registered against unknown culprits on the complaint of Amin and the police initiated the probe to nab the shooters. SHO Super Market police station Mumtaz Magsi said the area where the incident took place was the strong hold of Lyari gangsters and added that the deceased Rehan was rickshaw driver and came to the shrine along with his friend in the rickshaw. Moreover, he said the victim had no political or religious affiliation and suspected that these persons might have been victimised on ethnic ground.
Yet another rickshaw driver was fallen prey in a drive-by shooting in the limits of Zaman Town police remits. The incident took place at Sector 51-C of Zaman Town where unidentified armed riders targeted a rickshaw driver Tanveer son of Arif when he was sitting outside his home on early Tuesday. Police said the victim, who was youngest among five siblings, might have been murdered over love affair. No case was registered till filing of this report.
