The All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) has launched 'CNG cylinder/Kits safety campaign' in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). APCNGA Central Chairman Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha talking to reporters here on Tuesday stated that the campaign would cover the entire country, and said APCNGA was thankful to the Petroleum Ministry for valuable support in initiating the campaign.
The campaign had been launched successfully on Tuesday in Punjab and KPK, as APCNGA had made valuable contributions for the success of safety campaign, he said and added, "APCNGA believes that this campaign will help control CNG vehicle accidents. We will try our best to cover maximum vehicles in minimum time."
He said that under the project more than 110 workshops would check public transport and other vehicles, the kits and cylinders will also be checked, substandard parts and cylinders will be replaced by the approved ones, location of cylinders will be changed as per rules and a sticker will be affixed on the windscreens of the checked vehicles.
The data of checked vehicles for verification and checking is being gathered in a central database of the project. HDIP, Ogra Explosive Department is monitoring and APCNGA is providing help. He said that "we believe for the success of this campaign which will help avoid CNG vehicle accidents and ensure public safety."
