General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), who is on an official visit to Sri Lanka called on Mahinda Rajapaksa, the President of Sri Lanka. General Wynne discussed matters related to mutual interest and regional situation with the dignitary, says a press release issued by ISPR here on Tuesday.
Earlier, Chairman called on Air Chief Marshal WDRMJ Goonetileke, Chief of Defence Staff Sri Lankan Armed Forces. On arrival at the Office of Chief of Defence Staff he was presented guard of honour by a smartly turned out contingent of Sri Lankan tri services.
Both commanders had a detailed discussion on enhancing defence co-operation between the two friendly armed forces. General Wynne also called on Honourable Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the Secretary of Defence and Urban Development.
