Former Chief Minister Sindh and central leader of Pakistan Muslim League Likeminded (PML-L), Dr Ghulam Arbab Rahim on Tuesday alleged that the PPP's government was victimising him by not approving his leave applications in the provincial assembly as an attempt to unseat him as a provincial legislator.
Despite the provincial legislature has completed its 100 sittings of the parliamentary year, the government was holding assembly sessions only to disqualify him, the former CM told reporters at a press conference via phone from Dubai. He said his unseating from the provincial legislature would unveil the real face of the PPP-led government and alleged the government for planning to introduce a resolution in the house to disqualify him. He termed the PPP-led government a "democratic martial law" in the country.
He said in the past the members of provincial assembly had not been attending the sessions but they were never unseated. He said the same government was accepting his leave application for the last four years but suddenly it refused to approve his leave in order to vacate his seat. He said taking leave from the assembly was every member's right.
He said there were some members of the assembly who were also not attending the sessions but only he was subjected to political-revenge. He said he was facing a forced exile and willing to return to the country. He also criticised the government for not solving the public's problems in its four-year tenure.
