It is the constitutional duty of the Pakistan government under article 31 of the Constitution to provide legal as well as moral assistance to the new Muslim men and women and those refuting this are criminals not only in the eye of the Shariah but also the Constitution and the law, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Deputy Secretary General, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, said on Tuesday.
In a statement here, he said that no body could be forced to join Islam's fold nor anybody willing to embrace Islam could be stopped by force. He said that the men and women embracing Islam in Sihdh province had stated before the Law Court that they had embraced Islam after careful consideration and by free will. In such a situation, it was the responsibility of the entire Muslim society to protect the new entrants in Islam.
