The dust storm and rain in upper regions dropped the temperature in the plains of Punjab up to 10 degree Celsius on Tuesday making the weather pleasant. The maximum temperature in Lahore, which was 32 C on Monday fell to 23 C on Tuesday. Similarly, mercury dropped by 10 degree Celsius from 29.5 to 19 C in Islamabad/ Rawalpindi.
Temperature also decreased by 7 to 10 degrees in other cities including Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Sialkot , Mianwali, Multan, D.G. Khan, Okara, Sheikhupura, Rahimyar Khan, Sahiwal, T. T. Singh, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sargodha etc.
It said the maximum temperature in Pakistan 37.5 C was recorded at Dadu and lowest -9 at Kalat in Balochistan. In its daily weather report the Met office said that thunderstorm/rain is expected over Rawalpindi and Gujranwala divisions on Wednesday (today). Scatted dust thunderstorm/rain is also expected over upper KPK, Gilgit-Baltistan & Kashmir, elsewhere mainly dry weather is likely in the country. It said scattered rain/dust-thunderstorm occurred in upper KPK, Northeast Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the past 24 hours while North Balochistan, Sindh including Karachi and Southern Punjab remained under the dust storm.
The Met Office recorded rain (mm) as under on Monday/Tuesday. Kakul=69, Muzaffarabad=63,Skardu=45,Parachinar&Gupis=42(each),Gilgit=41,Chilas=40,BBalakot=38, Astore,35, Garhi Dupatta=31, Bunji=30 Drosh=18, Pattan=17, Murree=16, Chitral, Mirkhani & Saidu Sharif=09 (each), Dir=07,IslamabadZ.P=05,LowerDir,Rawalakot&IslamabadA/P=03(each) Hunza =02.
