The Karachi Port handled 68,890 tonnes of cargo comprising1 52,709 tonnes of import cargo and 16,181 tonnes of export cargo including 2,122 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 52,709 tonnes comprised of 16,148 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10,020 tonnes of general cargo; 25,241 tonnes of bulk cargo: 12,100 tonnes of coal; 7,389 tonnes of canola seeds; 5,752 tonnes of DAP and 1,300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 16,181 tonnes comprised of 9,961 tonnes of containerised cargo; 125 tonnes of general cargo; 2,195 tonnes of wheat and 3,900 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely Wan Hai-605, STX Patraikos, Chemroad Mega, MT Quetta and Armata with two container ships, two oil tankers and one bulk cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Tessa, Santa Belina, Spar Orion, Universal Antwerp, Sunset and Chemroute Sky with two container ships, two bulk cargo ships, one general cargo ship and one oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. Six ships namely Santa Belina, Tessa, Bow Victor, Sunset, Chemroute Sky and Mediterranean Highway carrying two container ships, one ethanol ship, one general cargo ship, one oil tanker and one vehicles carrier respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday, while another ship namely Topaz-II with one wheat carrier is expected to sail on Friday.
A container vessel viz Santa Beloina, Tessa, Mediterranean Highway, Nadeem and Sunset with two container ships, one vehicles carrier, one cement carrier and one general cargo ship respectively APL Brisbane due to arrive on Thursday, while six vessels viz APL Sharjah, OOCL Dalian, UBC Cyprus, Tabernacle Prince, Avra and Azalea Galaxy with two container ships, two cement carriers, one coal carrier and one base oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 77,577 tonnes, comprising 63,720 tonnes of import cargo and 13,857 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 604 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 63,720 tonnes includes 45,151 tonnes of furnace oil; 9,350 tonnes of diesel oil; 5,810 tonnes of canola seeds; 1,072 tonnes of bitumen; 874 tonnes of general cargo and 1,463 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 13,857 tonnes includes 392 tonnes of wheat; 3,452 tonnes of cement and 10,013 tonnes of containerised cargo. A general cargo ship namely MV Wilma sailed out to sea on Thursday morning. A total number of nine ships namely CV Sealand Michigan, MV Seagull-D, MV Hiba Al-Nour-B, MV Wilma, MV Mercy Wisdom, MV Ikan Bayan, MT Asphalt Merchant, MT Al-Soor-II and MT Karachi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, canola seeds, bitumen, diesel oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A container ship namely CV CMA CGM Verdi is currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of three vessels viz CV CMA CGM Verdi, CV Nara Maersk and MT Harsandi with containers and chemicals respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday. A container ship namely CV New Delhi Express due to arrive on Thursday, while two more container ships namely CV MSC Levina and CV MSC Reunion are expected to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday.
