Secretary General, Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaqat Baloch has said that an alliance with the religious parties is the top priority of JI for contesting upcoming general elections. He said this while talking to a delegation of Ulma Defence Council led by its Chief Mufti Hifzur Rehman at Mansoora on Tuesday.
He said the option for restoration of Muttahida Majlise Amal (MMA) on the table. The alliance of MMA was more successful experiment than Pakistan National Alliance (PNA) and Islami Jamhoori Ittehad (IJI) in the past. The Secretary General said that PPP led government during its four years tenure had made tall claims for promoting democracy and democratic culture in the country but, in fact, it had imposed dictatorship over the people of the country.
Criticising the Prime Minister, he said, the PM was doing nothing for the welfare of the people but providing support to the President. He said the souring prices of daily commodities had broken the bone of the poor masses while the rulers were living a luxurious life. The government is not paying its dues to the power generating companies due to which poor masses were facing load shedding of gas and electricity. Liaqat said the rulers had betrayed to the nation joining hands with the US. If they would not have done so, the US and Nato forces dared not kill thousands of innocent Pakistanis and Afghanis, he added.
