At least two persons including a cop were killed in separate mishaps at various parts of the metropolis here on Tuesday. According to police and rescue sources, a police constable lost his life in road accident near Natha Khan Bridge in the limits of Airport police station.
The victim Shaukat, 50, son of Jamaluddin, a resident of Airport police line, was knocked by a speedy vehicle when he was on the way to home from work on his motorcycle at Sharah Faisal near Natha Khan Bridge. Resultantly, he died on the spot. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities. Police said the victim was deployed in court police and at the time of incident he was going to home. Later police handed over his body to the heirs. No case was registered till filing of this report. A 48-year-old man shot himself dead in his house located in Sikandar Goth in the limits of Sohrab Goth police station.
The victim Nawaz alias Nazil, son of Sain Rakhio, a resident of Sikandar Goth situated near Super Highway committed suicide. He received fatal wounds on his upper torso and died on the spot. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico legal formalities. Police said the victim was the father of eight. Later police handed over his body to the heirs.
