The 26th conference of Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) will be held during the first week of October 2012 in Kathmandu, Nepal. According to press statement issued here by Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) the theme of the conference for this year is "A Vision For Shared Prosperity".
The date for holding the conference was decided during the Planning Committee meeting of CACCI held under the chair of its Vice President Tariq Sayeed in Kathmandu. "In the last three years it is the second time that a South Asian country was hosting this mega event," said Tariq Sayeed, who is also former President of FPCCI and SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He said a large number of businessmen from Pakistan will attend the conference, which will provide them huge opportunity to deepen commercial relations with counterparts in Asia and the Pacific. The three-day conference scheduled from October 03, is expected to be participated by over 400 delegates from 27 CACCI member nations. While reviewing the administrative arrangements, the Planning Committee also approved in consensus, the topics for five different sessions.
The first session will focus on Investment Opportunities in Nepal, which will be followed by sessions on `Asia in the Global Economy', `Inclusive Economic Growth-Empowering Women and Youth', `Mitigating the Adverse Impact of Climate Change' and `Regional Trade, Investments, and Knowledge Resources. The committee also finalised some parallel sessions for CACCI Councils, the statement added.
