Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 187,238 tonnes of cargo comprising1 152,593 tonnes of import cargo and 34,645 tonnes of export cargo including 4,882 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 152,593 tonnes comprised of 35,598 tonnes of containerised cargo; 19,360 tonnes of bulk cargo: 13,470 tonnes of coal; 5,890 tonnes of canola seeds and 97,635 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,645 tonnes comprised of 30,241 tonnes of containerised cargo; 115 tonnes of general cargo; 3,839 tonnes of cement and 450 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Nine ships namely OEL Trust, YM Fuzhou, CF Crystal, Kota Anggerik, Lodestar Genesis, Oriental Rose, YM Hamburg, Akaki and Stream Luna with five container ships, one chemical carrier, one ethanol ship, one oil tanker and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Ten vessels viz OEL Trust, Kota Anggerik, MOL Bravery, Bunga Raya Lapan, Hyundai Highway, Galveston, Thiem Quang 09, Akaki, Stream Luna and MT Lahore with five container ships, two bulk cargo ships and three oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Abdul Aziz Arab, Bunga Raya Lapan and MOL Bravery with three container ships respectively sailed out to sea on Monday, while two ships namely Hyundai Highness and MT Lahore with one containers ship and one oil tanker are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Three vessels viz CS Discovery, Lucky Lady-I and Magnum Fortune with one container ship, one base oil tanker and one coal carrier respectively due to arrive on Monday, while four vessels viz Captain Adam, Noble Coral, Ocean Felicity and Tabernacle Pronce with one rock phosphate ship, two general cargo ships and one cement carrier respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 44,296 tonnes import exclusively comprises 40,037 tonnes of furnace oil and 4,259 tonnes of urea was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Monday. Departure remained nil during last 24 hours. A total number of three ships namely MV Lion, MV Arrilah and MT Qubaa are currently occupying berths to load/offload rice, urea and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as three ships namely Hanjin Elizabeth, Anette Koasan and Estia with containers, furnace oil and chemicals respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of two vessels viz CV Hanjin Elizabeth and MT Anette Koasan carrying containers and furnace oil respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday. Two container ships namely CV Maersk Kingston and CV Hanjin Malta are due to arrive on Tuesday.
