Sindh Police has decided to upgrade its Forensic Department on modern lines so as to ensure standard investigation, particularly, on important cases as well as to arrest the accused. This was decided in a meeting held with Inspector General of Sindh Police, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah in the chair, on Sunday, at Central Police Office Karachi.
The participants of the meeting also reviewed the operational and investigation performance of the provincial police department. Addressing the meeting, AIG Forensic Division, Munir Sheikh shared a report pertaining to performance of the Forensic Division of the Sindh Police. He also highlighted the utilisation and benefits of Integrated Ballistic Identification System, Criminal Laboratory Manag-ement System Software, Comparator for Handwriting Examination, Forensic Photography Cameras and Laboratory Type Fuming Cabinet for Finger Print Collection.
Speaking at the meeting, the Sindh Police Chief approved the suggestions which presented before the meeting and also issued necessary directives in this regard. He said the close inspection of the crime scene can help to collect useful information and evidences against the culprits.
He said the forensic procedure of investigation would improve the image of the police as well as to fulfil the needs of the criminal justice system.
Additional IG Karachi, Akhter Hasan Gorchani, DIG Headquarters Sindh, Sardar Abdul Hameed, AIG Operations Sindh, Amir Farooqi and other officials concerned were also present on the occasion.
