The latest report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Iran's nuclear programme is "further proof" that Israeli intelligence on the issue is accurate, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday.
The IAEA report shows that Iran "continues to move forward with quick steps in its nuclear programme, without holding back and in defiance of and while bluntly ignoring the international community's decisions," Netanyahu told his cabinet in Jerusalem.
The issue would top the agenda of his March 5 meeting with US President Barack Obama in Washington, he said.
"Our region is turbulent and rapidly changing ... including the criminal massacres of innocent civilians that we see in Syria. We will discuss all of these topics (in Washington), but there is no doubt that one topic will be at the centre of our discussions and that of course is Iran's continue strengthening of its nuclear programme," he said.
The premier's statement came after the IAEA warned that Iran had increased its capacity to enrich uranium to higher grades, despite orders from the United Nations Security Council to halt such work.
Speculation has been mounting that Israel intends to launch a military strike against Iran's atomic facilities in order to stop it from developing nuclear weapons. While no Israeli official has publicly threatened such a strike, officials have repeatedly said that "all options are on the table."
