Nishat Mills Limited has posted Rs 1.901 billion as profit after tax in the half year period ended December 31, 2011, as compared to Rs 2.058 billion earned in the corresponding period in 2010. The Board of Directors of the company in its meeting held on Friday declared that the company's earning per share stood at Rs 5.41 in the period under review against Rs 5.85 in the same period a year back.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange, the company's sales increased to Rs 21.618 billion against Rs 21.344 billion while cost of sales increased to Rs 18.530 billion against Rs 18.062 billion. The company's profit before taxation stood at Rs 2.168 billion in the half year period in 2011 against Rs 2.354 billion in the same period in 2010.
On quarterly basis, the company's profit after tax increased to Rs 870.690 million translating earning per share of Rs 2.48 in the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to after tax profit of Rs 708.260 million with per share earning of Rs 2.01 in the same quarter in 2010.
