SHANGHAI: Chinese shares were up 0.75 percent in morning trade Wednesday, boosted by gains in Europe and the United States and speculation that government investment arms had injected funds into the domestic market, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was up 16.65 points to 2,232.58.
China's National Council for Social Security Fund injected at least 10 billion yuan ($1.58 billion) into the stock market last Friday, the Shanghai Securities News said Wednesday without citing sources.
