Lahore Police have registered 425 cases and arrested 425 culprits during the campaign against illegal weapons and recovered 03 Kalashnikovs, 01 Stan gun, 13 rifles, 27 guns, 347 pistols, 17 revolvers, 02 carbines, 01 mouser, 06 daggers, 61 magazines and more than 2,700 bullets during first month of 2012.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir said that crackdown launched against illegal weapons in order to rid the city of the crimes and criminal elements and it should be further intensified. He said concrete steps are being taken to make police corruption-free in provincial metropolis so that people can be assured of provisions of prompt and timely justice.
He said that comprehensive security would be ensured in provincial metropolis with the active co-operation of the citizens. He said that police officers ought to utilise all their energies to root-out crimes of the society. Every officer of Lahore Police should be determined to face crime-related challenges at all time. Lahore Police have only a single point agenda of eradicating, eliminating and uprooting the scourge of crime and vanquishing gangs involved in heinous crimes, in order to enable the citizens to live in a peaceful atmosphere where social, cultural and business activities can flourish, he added.
CCPO appealed the Lahorites to identify suspicious elements present in their surroundings and inform the police on Emergency 15 so that such anti-social elements could be nabbed and brought before the court of law to create sense of security among the general public.
