Italian Ambassador to Pakistan Vincenzi Prati said that his country was keen to strengthen diplomatic, economic, cultural and trade ties with Pakistan. "We want to promote co-operation and friendship with Pakistan," Prati said while talking to Pakistan Today at a dinner that was hosted in his honour by Mr & Mrs Irfan H.A. Vazeer, CEO of Finlays and President of Italian Development Council.
Italian Ambassador arrived in Karachi to participate in the dinner, Karachi Literary Festival and Livestock Expo. Prati appreciated the Karachi Literary Festival and Livestock exhibition saying that both these events were very impressive that elevated the image of Pakistan.
To a question about mutual co-operation, the Ambassador said that Italy and Pakistan were working on different development programmes with the aim to strengthen their mutual co-operation. Irfan Vazeer highlighted the mutual co-operation between two friendly countries and said that Italy was keen to cement ties with Pakistan. He said that Italy was supporting development in different areas in Pakistan.
Discussing Finlays role in Pakistan, Irfan Vazeer said that the company is engaged in cultivation of tea in different countries in the world. The company, he said, is supplying tea to famous brands in Pakistan and in the world. He said the Italian Development Council was engaged in promoting trade and investment in Pakistan. The IDC is a platform that facilitates investors and businessmen of the two countries to promote investment and trade, Irfan added.-PR
