The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has won international recognition and appreciation due to its result-oriented and cost-effective educational programmes which have opened the doors of quality education to the poor. This was stated by Chairman Punjab Education Foundation, Raja Muhammad Anwar, while presiding over a departmental meeting at his office on Saturday. PEF-MD, DMDs and other high officials also attended the meeting.
The Chairman said that international donor agencies have appreciated the good efforts of the Punjab Education Foundation for opening the door of education to the poor. He said that PEF has introduced various educational interventions which are result oriented, cost effective and transparent adding that this has helped to improve the academic standards of the partner schools as well.
As many as Rs 11 billion have been provided to the PEF by the Punjab Government to educate more than 1.1 million students through a network of more than 2,500 partner schools across the province. Raja Anwar asked the PEF officials to work more diligently so that the darkness of illiteracy can be turned into the light of knowledge and opportunity through Public Private Partnership.
