Competitions in various sports events were staged throughout the province on the third day of Punjab Sports Festival 2012. In first phase of the mega event teams belonging to as many as 3,464 union council teams are competing each other in athletics, football, cricket, badminton, hockey, kabaddi, volleyball and other sports.
In Lahore, at Cantt., and Shalimar Town, 42 union councils' teams participated in various games. In athletics, three teams participated in eight events while 12 teams competed in six matches of cricket.
